FXLabs partners with Yashraj Films to develop “Dhoom 2”, a first of its kind “AAA” quality Bollywood movie videogame. FXLabs Studios announced today that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Yashraj Film Studios to develop a PC game based on the popular action thriller Dhoom 2. An industry first for Bollywood, this game will boast of international “AAA” production quality, and will set the standards for all Indian-Cinema based games in the future.
Under the working title “Dhoom 2", FXLabs has begun development of the game and expect to complete it by the end of 2007. This game will reach out to all audiences who are avid Dhoom 2 fans as it is the natural extension of the sequel in the virtual screen. The game will feature likeness of characters from Dhoom 2, including Mr. A (Aryan) Jai, Sunehri, Ali and Shonali and many more. FXLabs Founder and Chairman Sashi Reddi, today met with President George W. Bush at the Indian School of Business (ISB). Mr. Reddi was among the 16 entrepreneurs selected to meet the president who was on a three-day official visit to India. The President had an hour-long discussion and answered a number of questions on topics ranging from outsourcing to Indo-American Entrepreneurs to eGovernance.
FXLabs Studios announced today it has signed an exclusive agreement with Archie Comics Entertainment for the development of the very first videogame based on the Archie universe. FXLabs and Archie Comics Entertainment will be working closely together to ensure that the world of Archie stays true to its rich and family-friendly heritage. FXLabs is invited to participate in the 2006 NASSCOM gaming and animation conference in Hyderabad. Industry executives from around the world presented their visions for growing the Indian development community. FXLabs CEO, Tony Garcia joined other leaders in the field to discuss the challenges and opportunities in creating world class game development organizations.
FXLabs CEO, Tony Garcia presents the future of the company at the Dow Jones Asia Ventures seminar in Santa Clara, California. FXLabs was the only company in the electronic entertainment sector invited to attend. This premiere event brought a small number of fast-track companies together with some of the top investment firms from around the world to meet and discuss ways of developing the rapidly expanding Asian market.
FXLabs today has announced the appointment of Tony Garcia to the position of CEO for the company. Mr. Garcia has held senior positions for such companies as Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and LucasFilm. In 1992, Mr. Garcia founded the game division for Microsoft and grew it into one of the top three games publishers in the world. "We are very pleased to have someone with Tony's experience and drive at the helm of FXLabs", said Sashi Reddi, founder and chairman of FXLabs.
FXLabs Studios announces its development agreement with Irrational Studios on "The Lost", an Xbox and PC action horror game. FXLabs in conjunction with producers and designers from Irrational will collaborate to bring the vision of this innovative product to life. It is currently scheduled for release in early 2006.
FXLabs announces its partnership with Backyard Entertainment for a series of animated short subjects from the Angel Wars series. FXLabs will work directly with the producers of the series on conceptual development as well as full production, character modeling and animation.
FXLabs Studios announces its establishment as a standalone game development and animations services company. In it's prior role as a division on Applabs, FXLabs successfully completed five projects for its third part partners.
